A Pandemic Palpitation

“For the meaning of life differs from man to man, from day to day and from hour to hour . What matters therefore, is not the meaning of life in general but rather the specific meaning of a person’s life at a given moment

A Pandemic Palpitation

The wave of foreboding returned
Continuing to react like some sailboat
Floundering around the fringe of
The directionless eye of that ever-mystical hurricane.
The pilgrim sailor’s heart palpitation
Was the response to the slow-moving tempest.
“What is the answer?”, he wondered.
“Storms come and go” the secret voice said.
“I have been here before” he cautiously responded.
“Things change” the voice continued.
An echo of the chorus of the diverse masters seemed
To become more clear.
“Courage “,
“Worry does not add a moment or day to your life”,
“The race will end someday.”
On and on, and on and on.
The fairway companion
Exhorted wisdom usually left to links navigations,
“There comes a time when the Jedi
Must move on without a master.”
In the solitude of his sanctuary
The illuminated pilgrim’s heart opened to
The sanctification of self-isolation
Remembering to remember a blessing.

There was that time when one master offered him the opportunity
To buy the master’s business.
The master suggested that they go out for a sail
On the pilgrim’s sailboat.
The master requested that they put
The sails down and as they drifted
The master would ask one question
…it was , “What are you willing to die for ?”…
They drifted in silence for a while,
The pilgrim had no where to escape.
The pilgrim finally answered the question and
The master said “hoist the sails and lets go…”
